My ATI AIW 9800PRO, has no internal audio connection. It uses the bus itself for the Sound. Great card for what I use it for mostly capturing and very little games.

My Hauppauge PVR-350 can use the motherboard audio for sound with no cable.

My Emuzed Maui-III capture card (mpeg hardware encoding) does not use the motherboard audio or the sound card -- I just run my video and audio cables from my DISH receiver or VCR directly to the Emuzed Maui-III input ports, and everything is done on the card.

Hauppage PVR 250 doesn't need any external audio. I'm confident 150 works the same.
