    I am looking for a good converter which converts video in any format to Divx Avi format. I tried different softwares like AutoGK, Gknot , VirtualDub . All these softwares takes a lot of time for converting the video. I tried convertmovie 4 from www.movavi.com it takes only less time for converting video and the quality is excellant. This is not a freeware. Now that I am looking for a similar kind of freeware which gives a good quality conversion with lesser time. could anyone help me.

    Also unreliable, or questionable quality, and with dubious support

    If you use the official codecs, as AutoGK etc do, then the encode time will be around the same for each, and is mostly CPU dependent (all else being equal). But at least you know what you are getting, and it will be compliant.
