  1. I have a NEC ND-6750A slim internal drive that i want to set up to use externally via USB. Well I bought a case from Meritline.com but it isn't working well. I have read that this NEC drive works well externally so I blame this on the case since it won't work on my desktop or laptop and a friend's desktop. I have heard some cases don't work as well as others so are there other cases that I should look at? From what I've heard it's good to have one with a Lithium battery. Are there any suggestions? i went with this solution becuase I want something that is very compact for traveling. I have seen very few of these and the ones I see are very expensive. Any suggestions on a good case?

Here's some from XPgear. I see two specifically for slim optical drives. This one is for USB, about $40US. They have a similar one for USB/FW: http://www.xpcgear.com/525enclosure.html

I haven't seen an external enclosure by itself with a battery. Sounds like a good idea, though, to save your laptop battery.
