Hi everyone,
I have read though allot of the faqs and forums here and have tried at least 7 apps from the toools/encoders section of this site, but maybe its me i just carnt seem to find an encoder that best suits my needs. I need to consult the people who know best and thats why im posting here, I need a encoder that can do the following:
1. Utilise all the codecs i have installed on my system e.g. nemo codec pack divx ect including audio codec. I want an encoder that can do THIS.....let me encode my source video to any format i want as long as the video codecs are installed, let me encode the audio for my souce video into any format i want as long as the relevant audio codecs are installed.
2. MUST BE MULTITHREDED
Thats it but for some reason i have found apps that will do number one but not number two and vise versa.
I want to be able to create un-natural files like mp4 with ac3 audio as apposed to the traditional mp4 with mpeg3 audio ect mergeing different elements. I understand there maybe ways of doing this utilising three or more appz for example:
RM----->mpeg2 with ac3
1. Convert RM-----> avi with pcm audio ect with virtual dub
2. convert avi to mpeg
3. convert pcm to ac3 with bbfmpeg
4. mux or author the two together
But i was looking for one encoder that could do all this in one step....Thank you for any help recieved.

I doubt you will find one converter program that does it all. The closest I can think of might be SUPER.
It works much better to use individual encoders or programs tailored for specific formats if you want quality and control. Any program that tries to 'do it all' usually does none of it well. -
Thanx for the reply redwudz so quick as well, your right about programs that try to do it all they do tend to be crap to be honist ill settle for a program that can.
encode to and from
Mpeg all varients
avi
divx
xvid
RM
MP4
And at least allows me to output sound in ac3 for all types named above. Im currently using total video converter its a nice app just not multithreaded so im having to use it twice at one time to make use of my second core but its just not the same, and isnt very good when im trying to encode just the one file. Ill check SUPER out now via google. -
Hi redwudz,
Have you tried the latest version of super as i seem to be having some problems with it, for starters after instalation the program hangs and will not load the GUI the "super" icon is on the windows taskbar but its not doing anything and when i click on it the icon become embbeded like the GUI should be in front of me??? Any else having this problem. -
