    Hello,

I am replacing the computers in my sisters office. She has small Dental practice with a server and 2 clients. The main application they use is Kodak PracticeWorks and the system requirements mention that is has only been tested (therefore they only recommend you use it) on Intel processors. Now everything I know from past experience tells me that any application should work on either of the 2 processors, unless it was written in assembly language or something like that...but since this is her business I'm a little extra paranoid. The reason I'm wanting to go with AMD is because I found a great deal on some new lenovo desktops that are AMD based.

    anyways...any advice would be appreciated.

  2. There are hardly any Windows programs that won't run on all of the recent Intel and AMD X86 processors. Many programs have optimizations that only work with certain processors. Like Divx's SSE4 optimizations for the latest Intel CPUs. These programs will still run on other processores, just not as fast.

For "must have" programs you should check with the software vendor to verify compatability.
