I've been reading that aac re-produces results closer to the original mix.
Is there a huge benefit to using aac for video?
does an equal bit rate in mp3 or aac equal the same file size?
And finally what do you need to encode aac?
I currently use goldwav and razerlame..

You might look here for a comparison of ACC VS MP3 quality and filesize: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding

Looks like Nero Digital Audio can do it, and possibly BeSweet with the Belight GUI. Probably others, also.

  3. SUPER does a great job if you want both video AVC (Advanced Video Codec) and AAC in the same file. Or Quicktime Pro if you're willing to pay the $30.

AAC does produce better quality audio at smaller filesize ratios. It's simply the next technology after MP3. The same as AVC (h.264) is the next technology after divx video (and partially based on it).

At around 128k and above it makes no difference. Bellow that, go with aac. Is Super using faac? If so I wouldn't really recommend it. Better to use Nero's free encoder.
