I have just tried to copy a DVD-RAM disc using TMPGEnc Author and when I click "Add DVD" I get this message:

    File E:\VIDEO_TS.IFO cannot be opened.

The strange thing is that early yesterday I could open it and copy it into the program preparatory to making a new -R disc. I have another one which copies OK!

    Has anyone any ideas?

By the way the disc plays in my DVD player and on the PC using Windows Media Player!

Following my post above I tried again to put the DVD onto the program and this time it did copy across. However, when I tried to copy it onto a -R disc this message came up.

File My Documents\...........TDA-DVS-2006-7-29-000 mpg cannot be opened.

I am extremely puzzled and would appreciate some help.

I now cannot input any DVD into the TMPGEnc Author program! It is most frustrating.

My E-Drive which I use to input the disc has changed its name to MEI-UDF(E! Would this be the problem?

By the way I have a trial copy of the program (version 1.5.9) - do you think it would be better if I downloaded the version 2 trial?

    Somebody - please answer.

I think you have a drive / driver problem, not related to your authoring program.

Thank you for replying. I only had the E-drive fitted on 13 July so I think I'll ring them in the morning and ask them to have a look at it. I also think they have forgotten to attach the D drive!

However, I have used the E drive with Nero since this all started but it might be a compatibility problem.

You're not going to believe this but having removed some programs and files that I didn't use at all, the TMPGEnc Author is now working fine. I think the computer was struggling!

Thanks for your replies and offers of help.
