  1. i have 250 AVI movies about 700M each and i need to comprewss them to a small format without loosing teh quality

    i tried DIVX convert but took 12h to do 5 files thats way to long, is there anyting else i can use or even a better then divx format

    2G ram
    4 750G HDD
    2 320 HDD

    No. 5 movies in 12 hrs is pretty fast on your hardware.

    Every encoder should be using close to 100% or it would be ineffecient. And even slower. If you are wanting to do something else on the computer, then you can slow it down to 50% and have it take twice as long.

    If you reduce the bitrate or quality of the encode, it will go quicker.

  6. If you want to do something else on the computer while running Divx Converter use Task Manager to set Divx Converter's priority to Low (or it may have it's own process priority setting, I don't know, I don't use it).

    Try using faster settings in Divx. For example, setting Encoding Mode to Balanced may be several times faster than Extreme or Insane. The quality won't be that much lower.
