Can component cables be run outside?

I would make sure they are in some kind of a plastic tubing or pvc.

They aren't rated for outdoor use. Maybe they make some that are? Notice electrical cords can be bought with an outdoor rating?

You can use RG-6 cable (same as used by the cable company) as component cable. You'll just need to put RCA connectors on it.

I'm assuming its not that hard to put RCA connectors on the end?

What length are you considering and what kind of video do you intend to send? SD analog from a DVD player? 720P or 1080i HDTV?
