i have a sony dv cam and i want to connect it to my philips recorder. I have a 4 / 4 dv cable but my philips recorder is unable to detect my sony dv cam.

What's a 4/4 cable? On the recorder, you will need to select the input to which the cam is connected.

ya of course i know that but it is still saying no signal. My recorder says it can only detect DVC-sd cam corder. any idea what does this means
