I tried running part of the error through Google, and got a variety of answers (even a link to a post on the Roxio support forums, though that didn't seem to want to load). Some suggested cleaning the drive, trying different media. The most 'extreme' suggestion was to try clearing the PRAM and see if that helps, though I'm not sure how, offhand, it would.

Sense Key =Hardware points to a problem with the Hardware,
ie. the dirve itself. In my own case, I've seen it apply to media
the drive was not rated to burn, and it would cause the
Laser to not calibrate correctly, thus giving a
    SENSE KEY=HARDWARE ERROR .

Your computer specs aren't filled out, ( under your PROFILE)
so I can't really answer concretely. You should fix that
at your earliest convience. (hint, hint)

What I can tell you is this:
If you have a Pioneer DVR-106/A06 to a DVR-108/A08 drive,
the media you should be using is 8x rated or less.
If you are using a Pioneer DVR-109/A09 drive, then 16x media
should be fine, depending upon your FirmWare.

Please post back with the type of (brand and speed) DVD-R media
you are using, and the type of DVD Burner in your computer.
    ( Check Apple System Profiler)
