Ok i was just wondering if i should buy a better svideo cable for when i start recording on my dvd recorder. right now i have a cheap one. Does it matter?

You have to remember you are talking about ~5Mhz bandwidth, not microwaves.
While I wouldn't buy a $4.50 cable, $20 would be a reasonable amount for a name brand like Belkin for a cable about ~6 feet long with well constructed connectors and decent quality cable. Don't buy into 'mega cable' hype. It's just a piece of wire.
