    I'm a new MpegStreamClip user and am having trouble saving a chunk of an Xvid AVI file and then converting it to Mpeg 1.

    I can save a chunk just fine, but then how do I convert that AVI into an Mpeg? The "convert to MPEG" option from the menu is always greyed out.

    MPEG StreamClip is not the MPEG encoder...You cannot encode AVI to MPEG with that app...
