My dvd player supports mpg files. But, if I burn those mpg files on a dvd like any files then I have to skip file by file to reach the desired file. I want to burn the mpg files with a menu. But, if I use the menu feature of any burning software, it checks compatibility and tried to convert the mpg into a vob file, which is not what I want.

It is easy to build a menu with those mpg files when burning on a cd but I want it to do on a dvd disk. Is there any - any software which supports this feature. I tried quite a few but all tries to look for compatability.

    thanks!

if you want a menu that works on most dvd players you must make a dvd-video with vob files.

how do you make a menu with mpg files on a cd?

They have to be compliant files to make a DVD with menus. If they already are compliant most authoring software will not reencode(providing it has that ability) the video if you use the same attributes in the authoring software that your source video is. Some also have a option to specifically leave compliant video as is.
