  1. PC: AMD 1.8ghz, 512mb RAM, Win 98SE (with all known updates)

When I try to install the latest version of SUPER on this PC, I get a warning that the minimum requirements are not being met. The only apparent problem is the difference between the minimum of "Windows 98 SP1" and my Win 98SE (which SUPER id's as Win98B (4.10.22222).

I exceed all other minimum requirements by a wide margin.

What am I missing here? I'm assuming (dangerous word!) that Win 98SE ought to exceed the Win 98 SP1 minimum.

    Right? Wrong?

    Help!

If you still have previous version installed , uninstall it , reboot pc , and install new version .

Make sure you are running a screen resolution higher than 800x600 , recent build bug was fixed that prevented it from installing on pc's with this screen resolution .

You should see if there is a forum linked on the main site and if so , post the question .

On ther other side , I came across this one

    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mediacoder/MediaCoder-0.3.5-20060126.exe?use_mirror=easynews

Seem's to be similar , and free , though I am still downloading it right now .

Seem's to cover everything as well

  3. UPDATE: SUPER tech support confirmed that Win 98SE is incompatible with SUPER.

Out of curiosity, why are you still using 98SE?

  5. Why 98SE?

Unwillingness to add to Bill Gates' billions unless I absolutely have to.

The Win98SE PC is a homebuilt upgrade (originally built before XP), so it didn't come with a copy of WinXP. I had Win98SE left over from a PC that died on me.

When/IF Vista arrives, I'll probably upgrade this PC to XP while others fuss with Vista . . . . just staying behind the bleeding edge a little . . . . or a lot, depending on the upgrade expense!
