  1. Why would my DVD player choke on dark scenes with a dvd encoded with CCE at a constant bitrate?

    Hmm, what CBR? Maybe there is a bitrate discontinuity at the edit.

    Have you tried a different DVD player? My older DVD players were more picky.

  7. Yea, it only does it on one player but its the one i use the most. Bitrate was about 2521 i think, i know it was real low and between 2000 and 3000.

    what do you mean by bitrate discontinuity? a way to fix that?

    Have you scanned the disc for read errors ?
    Have you cleaned the laser of the player ?

    more than likely the player then...might have to get another player to use most. 8)
