Perhaps I missed what I needed to see when I went looking, nevertheless, I'm conused.

I have a dual-layer DVD burner (Toshiba SD-R5372 with Nero6 OEM Suite 3 software). And I have some DVD files to burn which, according to Nero, will not fit on a standard 4.7GB blank DVD. I would like to keep them in their original format and not split to multiple discs.

I understand (maybe incorrectly) that a DVD9 is a larger capacity blank DVD. Where do I find them? Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing; how are they labeled - as "DVD9", or perhaps as "dual layer", or maybe something else?

And does having a dual-layer burner enable me to use the larger capacity blank media? How much larger? From perusing the Glossary at VideoHelp, I see that there are apparently even larger blank discs than DVD9? Am I limited in how large a blank disc I can use with my burner and/or software?

If there are particular tutorials to which you can point me, please do so. If I know where to go, I can learn it myself from reading.

    Thanks.

DVD9 - store bought dual layer factory pressed DVD.
Dual Layer - recordable DVDR you can buy and record to...however they are still somewhat expensive.
You need a burner that is able to burn Dual Layer to actually burn them....some cannot burn them...most newer ones can.

The double-layer'ed blanks are known as dual layers.

DVD9's is a PHYSICAL FORMAT. The Dual-layer recordable is a subtype of DVD9, sorta.

Just get dual-layer, and make SURE your drive is dual-layer capable.
