Hi.
Re: Cannot burn RealMedia Files to cdr media. Anyone!!
I'm trying to put 2 tunes on to a cd using Nero, trouble is these tunes are
RealMedia Files and when i try to add these files to Nero, the following comes up in a box. Files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed.
Is there any other programme that i can use to get round this problem.
I would be grateful for any advise.
Thanks to all that reply.

There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to burn any file typ to a data CD.
Problems may arise if you try to create a video or audio CD - then the material has to be converted to the correct format - and no app knows how to handle all kinds of source files.
RealMedia seems to be the worst kind as source material for conversion.

In other words, your choice of wording is quite... unfortunate.
Basically, the CD-R media doesn't give a **** what you burn onto it. So if you ran into any problems, it's because you asked the computer to perform something not possible, given its limitations.
In this case, it seems that you're trying to create an AudioCD (which happens to be on CD-R media, but is a far more specialized version of it, requiring data in specific forms and layouts and all that) and Nero cannot convert the RealMedia files with its built-in converters.
You can try DBPowerAmp or some other converters, but Real formats are rather painful to convert. -
You can purchase a subscription to Rhapsody Unlimited which is the plug-in your burning software is asking for. These files were downloaded from a subscription service or were downloaded serendipitously from a free service and the files contain DRM preventing them from being burned without a subscription.
In short, good luck short of purchasing a subscription. -
Hmm... There's a RealAudio plugin available for use with Nero, but I haven't tried it with versions 6 or 7 (it should theoretically still work, though).
I just went searching for the link for it, since I've lost my bookmarks file once or twice, and here's the latest link I found: http://www.bitburners.com/Nero_Audio_Plugins/ Not the same one I remember, but that one is redirecting to bitburners as well... don't ask me why.
Edit: On the other hand, if you are trying to convert Real files with DRM, ROF is probably right in saying that you'll need to go through Rhapsody. I'm not familiar with Rhapsody, so I can't comment. ^_^If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Hi,
If you have RealPlayer version 10.5, you will be able to convert your .rm files to .wav files. Then, just use Nero or any CD burning softwares to make an audio CD from your WAVE files.
