I'm trying out Procoder and trying to encode an avi to mpeg2.
i'm wanting it to encode the video and audio at same time from same source but i get this message
"2pass/multiple media is not allowed
you cannot use 2-pass mode and multiple file output together
do you want to use single file mode?
click no if you want to use 1pass mode instead"
i understand most of it but what does single file mode mean?
with MC i always use the same source for video and audio.
using Procoder would it be better to only do video then multiplex?

Did you pick MPEG-System stream (both video and audio) as output type?
-
i selected
stream format: generic ISO MPEG stream
on the drop down menu for stream type is
MPEG-1 System Stream
MPEG-2 Program Stream
MPEG-1 Elementary Stream
MPEG-2 Elementary Stream
MPEG-2 Transport Stream
if i select Stream Format: DVD(MPEG Program/Elementary)
on the drop down menu for stream type is
MPEG-2 Program Stream
MPEG-2 Elementary Stream
when i try to select any of them for VBR 2 pass i get the warning
"2pass/multiple media is not allowed
you cannot use 2-pass mode and multiple file output together
do you want to use single file mode?
click no if you want to use 1pass mode instead"
i want to encode an avi to DVD mpeg 2 with VBR 2 pass
what's should i choose and why do i get warning? -
Do not choose Generic ISO Mpeg Stream, choose DVD (Mpeg Program Stream/Elementary Stream), then under Stream Type choose MPEG-2 Program Stream and you should be OK. I have just tested this with ProCoder 2, and can use 2 pass VBR and either PCM or MP2 audio and I get no warnings or problems.
