Ok, I have an Xbox that I use as a media center and my Comcast digital cable box hooked up to my HDTV. Both are connected through component (obviously).
Since I live in a fairly small apartment, I'd like to get some kind of 5.1 sound option going that is under $300. Does anyone have some recommendations or ideas they can share? Would the Logitech Z5500 speakers be good enough for something like this or is it better to get a "true" home theater system?
Thanks![]()

If I had a budget of $300 I'd get a dedicated system. But being in an apartment there is no need to go overboard.
Something like this should do fine.

I agree with Flaystus...
I tried to use a set of Logitech 5.1 to go with a DVD hooked up to a 13" tv in my office. The speakers worked well for the computer (close proximity) but just didn't cut it with filling the room with sound for the DVD (even with a small office - 9x14) -
Thanks for the replies
I actually was looking at the Yamaha YHT 360 but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. The 160 seems more in tune with my needs. And it's from newegg, I had no idea they carried that.
Thanks again!
