As the topic suggests, I've got a 1920x800 MKV and I need to turn it into a BDMV that will play on a Bluray player (and not just the PS3). I already made a disc that ought to work, and it plays fine in Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre... except that it stretches those 800 lines to 1080.

I am basically hoping there is some flag or setting I can try using which will enable me to use this h264 encode on a Bluray disc without having to compromise the quality (and introduce other complications) by re-encoding it with black bars.

Edit: I made the disc with TsMuxer.

The ArcSoft video decoders are rather limited --- they are OK for playing "BD-ready" files, but as you have seen, they were designed to "think" all videos must have a 16:9 aspect ratio

You'd better get a device that supports Hi-Def MKVs --- the BD-Video specs do not include "1920x800", for example

If this was originally 1920 x 1080 but was cropped, you can use uncropMKV.
