The mpeg-2 files files were created using videostudio 9.
I did a simple menu.
I goto the finish screen and click on "create iso image" That is when it crashes, no error screens come up.

Can you try and see if you can created the DVD folders instead of an ISO image, and if that crashes? It might be the ISO packager.
When you check the video in the "Edit" window, see if the box for "convert to disc template" is checked -- if it's checked and grayed out (so you can't change it), Workshop doesn't recognize your video/audio as compliant and wants to reincode it. I've had a few AC-3 audio tracks in my time that Workship puked on; it took the original wav file just fine, though, and did its own conversion to AC3 and that worked so that was nice.
Or, if the "convert to disc template" box is checked, and you can uncheck it, try unchecking it and run again. That might do it.
And with workshop frankly you can't go wrong doing a full uninstall, restart the PC, reinstall, patch, restart, and try again.But start with seeing if it's got the latest patch and we'll go from there!

Another possibility: Are you creating your ISO to a FAT32 drive rather than an NTFS drive? If so, and if it's over 4 GB, that might be it. As ozymango suggests, try creating DVD folders, or make sure you write your ISO to an NTFS drive.
Also, save often. -
@p_l
My drive is NTFS.
@ozymango
I will check tonight when I get home all you said above.
