  1. Hi,
I have a load of video files in the format *.avi.324 and upwards Im trying to join them with HJSplit, but it wont accept them cos the first file is not .001 if i rename it, it wont take the 2nd file and so on, is there a prog that will renumber all the files so i can join them using hj split?
or other prog ?, tks in advance.

  2. a. sounds like you got incomplete set

    b. manually rename each one is what I so. Or make a batch file for dos. Open a Dos prompt (Cmd prompt in 2000/Xp. Type
    Copy /?
that'll give you the syntax for the copy command. You'll need the /b switch for your avi.

    Good Luck

If you don't have the actual .001 file, then you are missing the file header of the original file, and no matter what you do, the resulting unsplit file will not work (not even a little bit). I'm sure that's why HJSpit won't even try.

If you do have the .001 file, but are missing other parts, the unsplit file may or may not be marginally useable. It depends mostly on what type of file it is.
