  1. HEloo everyone. I want to ask is there a prog that will process multiple .001 files like a batch so u don't have to site there and join each one at a time? Say I have part1.001 part2.001 part3.001 and so on and each of them has their own parts to be joined, is there a prog that will process all of the .001 along with their parts like a batch? Many Thanks.

    Those sound like WinRAR files. But HJSplit may be able to join them if they are just separate files and have consecutive numbering: http://www.hjsplit.net/ or I use FileMerger also: http://home.versatel.nl/doesw000/FileMerger/

  3. Thank you, but I have tried the original hjsplit, file splitter and joiner, file merger and none can do multiple header .001s. Thanks.

    Oh, I see what you mean. You have equivalent to multiple files in multiple folders. There are also file renaming programs where you could make them sequential, and then they could be easily joined. But any mistakes and the order would be all messed up. Definitely try it on a copy of the files.

    Here's one program that might work for the renaming part: http://www.filerenamer.net/file-renamer.htm?gclid=CKGgo9i5so4CFQwsOAodOzvOwQ

    EDIT: That program's payware though. There are likely freeware versions that can do the same. It says it can rename inside folders or within the file hierarchy.

    Not simple ... and as redwudz mentioned , work with a copy folder only .

    Copy all *.001's to new folder , and simply rename them as

    part1.001 = part1.000
    part2.001 = part1.001
    part3.001 = part1.002

    There may be programs capable of rejoining them from here ... but you have not included what they might have inside ... even after joining , the file , may be useless garbage .

    Archives use a start file , for some of the popular formats , the first file will end like , part1.ace , part1.rar , part1.zip

    Some use a batch file > ???.bat , so the end user dosent need the program installed to retrieve the contents from archival sets .

    Bulk renamer's - free :

  6. Thank you guys and I see what you recommded and it makes sense if all the .001 is from a single same movie, but of course we could have a bunch of .001 for a bunch of different movies. Ghee...why don't people just split them into rar files and we all will be happy Thanks again.

    That does appear to be a somewhat unusual arrangement. It would have helped if they had arranged them sequentially from the start. But that system isn't uncommon when files are in separate folders.

    I have a lot folders of photos that are numbered 1 - 40. If I wanted to combine them all together into a single folder I would need to rename all the ones in each folder, like 1 - 40, then 40 - 80 in the second folder, etc. If you had to do this often, I would invest in one of the payware program that does it more or less automatically.

    I just use hjjoin http://www.freebyte.com/download/hj-join.zip
    Run join32 in the same directory as all your .001 files and it should automatically join them. Works good for me.

  9. Wow...thanks Skiboot! That is exactly what I need I bet alot of us will find this app incredibly helpful.
    I guess I just have to copy the exe into the folder, but still better than sitting there and join each part/movie. One click and go get a coffe kind of app Thanks so much again. Thanks everyone!
