    Hi there,

Apparently I'm a dummy, because I can't get it done with ffmpegX. I have several AVI's which I've downloaded from the internet and trying to burn them on a DVD-R disc ... I use Toast 6 and tried several formats, but apparently I pick the wrong format every time.

Can someone please help with choosing 'the right format' for a regular DVD-player, which is connected, to my TV?

    Thanks a lot!

    Kind regards,
    Marco

The video on a DVD is compressed in MPEG-2 and the sound can either be in WAV, MP2 or AC3.

When I make my own DVD's, I use TMPGenc to encode the video to MPEG-2 and the sound to MP2.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks but I'm a Mac user (Mac OSX) so your advice unfortunately doesn't help me
