  1. I have Total Video Converter and am converting rmvb to AVI that I want to play in newer DVD players. Which button should I choose? I have circled what I think are the most likely choices. (See screenshot)

MS AVI Xvid or Divx, however

    1. There are restrictions on how this encoding is done for these to play back. Does Total Video Converter do this ?

    2. Not all DVD players support playback of non-DVD files, so make sure yours does.

If you want guaranteed playback (or as close to as possible), use ConvertXtoDVD and create DVD instead.

In fact, most DVD players do not support AVI files. If you player doesn't have a Divx logo on the front it probably doesn't play AVI.

Players that will play Divx AVI files will usually also play Xvid AVI files.
