This is a tricky one, but knowing the brains in this forum, I'll bet someone knows how to do this.
I have a DVD with a nice picture menu and titles for three sections. It is a Demo for a film maker. The three sections are: 1) current, 2) music videos 3) archival
I have created new updated avi's of the three (3) sections mentioned above, all encoded to mpg and ready to go.
Is it possible to author each section say in tmpgenc dvd author separately (to get 3 sets of vobs. And then take those 3 sets of vobs and insert them into the old dvd file structure, add chapters, and reauthor the whole thing so it looks exactly as it used to look (same menu), but plays my new updated (3) reels?
I have tmpgenc & DVD-Archetect, and shrink and decryptor (to rip).
Seems like this is not an imposible task, but slightly complex one. And I am fairly bright and very daring.
And if this does not work, is there a way to grab the picture out of the old dvd to use in the new menu without doing a screen shot of it, and losing quality? That might be the better option. Just creat a new dvd fromt scratch using the old picture?
As always, thanks so-much.
Jeff

Ulead DVD Workshop will allow you to take clips from an existing DVD or add extra clips to an existing one. It is not a cheap piece of software but Ulead DVD MovieFactory is a lot cheaper and may also be able to do it. If this is a one-off project, a free 30 day trial of both is available for download from www.ulead.com.

Thanks very much. The more I go through this in my head, the more I think authoring a new dvd with the old picture inserted is the way to go.
The VTS 1 file in the (original) disc is that damn picture I want to use. I need to grab that file, and insert it into my new project during or before button positioning.
So end disc would look like the old one, but would not be at all the old one, just same background picture.
No time to learn a new authoring program, not with what I already have.
thx. -
Take a look at DvdReMake Pro. Will do what you need quite easily.
