    Hi, i have a panasonic DS-29, which i Cap to Avi but when i
    play back the file, using Windows Media play i get big black
    bars like full widescreen the video i have is about 1:85:1
    with black bars on the top and below, but why is WMP and
    Ulead Video Studio 9 making the bars smaller, any help
    would be great thanks.

    P.s. i also use Sony Veags 6 and Ulead Media Studio 7 Pro
    and both of them dont have the same prob.

    Are you selecting to capture at widescreen? For playback the bars are created by the software or the DVD player, anamorphic widescreen uses the full resolution of the video, i.e 16:9 and 4:3 are both 720x480. What you have is not really widescreen, if your setting it to capture to 16:9 then the software is going to add the extra black bars in addition to the black bars that are part of the video.

    Hi,

    The video i have captured is 4:3 (the cam is in Cinema mode) and Ulead media Studio 7 and SonyVegas 6 both play the video the right way, this is just with WMP & Ulead Video Studio 9.
