I'm using a hardware encoding device (DVD Xpress DX2) to capture home videos. After capturing around 2 hours, the resulting raw mpeg-2 file is a little over 4 GB. However, after using Video Studio 9 SE to do nothing more than split it into scenes and add a few simple transitions, the resulting file is over 6 GB, which won't fit onto a single layer DVD. Actually, it will do this with no editing at all, that is, trying to create a DVD or Video_TS files from the captured mprg-2 file with absolutely no edits at all. Any idea as to what causes this and how to address?
