how do I go about removing all the codecs I have installed? when i play back divx video its all messed up looking, if I take a screen shot of the video playing with fraps, it looks fine though in the screenshot. I have tried removing divx (and all other codecs I see in add/remove programs) and reinstalled, but no luck.
thanks

There's a couple more in here - https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=38#38
CodecSniper, DxMan, Sherlock - The Codec Detective ...If in doubt, Google it. -
Codec Sniper, though it can be severe and DXman are two programs that may help. The real cure is to not install codecs that can conflict with each other and other installed programs. The golden rule is to not install any codec unless you need it. Codec packs in their entirety are almost always a problem, along with installing codecs you don't need. You will learn that the hard way if not now.
You can see what video codecs are presently installed on your machine by Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Hardware >(Scroll down to Video Codecs) Video Codecs > Properties > Properties.
That will give you the OS listing of what it says is installed. -
here is a list of the video codecs installed.. any I should remove that you can see?
