Alright..I can't explain this one, so I'm hoping someone can.

I saw a cd the other day with multiple versions of WinXP on it and various utilities/etc. When looking at the properties of the cd it says 659mb is used up on the cd.

HOWEVER!, if you copy the contents of the cd to the hard drive and check the properties again...the file add up to over 3gb! I was attempting to slipstream SP2 and my SATA RAID drivers, but I couldn't get it back to cd because it was so huge!

I could understand if this was 3gb worth of text files and they were all zipped, but this cd shows no signs of the files being packed or zipped in any way...in fact, individually checking the properties of each folder on the cd will reveal that they are 400-500mb a peice.

    any ideas?

Never come across a Windows XP CD with multiple versions plus the addition of various utilities. Its either the home edition or the Pro Edition. Something doesn't sound right here. Is it actually a original Windows CD?
