  1. I bought the Avermedia EZ DVD Maker PCI card several days ago. The chipset is SAA 7130. The card works fine with the software in the same box, i.e. NeoDVDstandard 4. The highest resolution I can get is 720*480. However, the output file can only be mpeg. I need to do a lot editing, so the avi format is prefered for me. So I tried many other captiure softwares, including windows movie maker, VirtualDub and VirtaulVcr. However, none of them can capture video with full resolution. Only 320*240 can be achieved. Anybody know how I can fix this problem? I appreciate your help.
I did some research before posting. This question has been asked by other people about a year ago, but nobody answered.

    Sounds like a driver issue.

That sounds very strange. I have the same card and can capture 720x480 no problem with VirtualVCR (although the capture window is 704 for this the Philips SAA 7130 chip, so that's what I capture in to keep the aspect ratio correct).

  5. Thanks!
Which verion of VirtualVCR are you using? Mine is 2.6.9.6252.
Are you able to use other software with such resolution or it only works with VirtualVCR?

    1.) VirtualVCR
    2.) iuVCR

Those are the 2 most popular and either should work.

Please note I tried this capture card and had an issue with installation that caused all kinds of problems.

I had to uninstall and do it again.

It worked then (for the most part) except I had a drop frame issue but I think that was just some weird voodoo vibe with my particular combo of equipment.

For most people this card works fine and the image quality is most excellent (from my own experience and pics that other people have posted).

    P.S.
Try to capture to AVI using the HuffyUV codec and of course 16-bit 48k STEREO PCM WAV format for the audio.
