  1. Hi everyone,

I searched this forum but couldn't find a solution.

Could anyone help me with a problem with Premiere Pro capture? When i connect my camera (a JVC miniDV cam), Premiere recognizes the DVcam as online but says "Can't Activate Camera Controls". I had set the device option to "JVC Standard." Clicking on the PLAY button on the capture window plays the tape on the camera but Premiere Pro doesn't show any preview. I can click on the CAPTURE button but nothing happens.

WinDV, DVIO, Pinnacle Studio, Media Studio Pro and ImageMixer all can control the camera.

I edit my vids in Premiere Pro and I would like to capture in it so I could use its auto scene detection option.

    Thanks for the help...

I've never had that problem. You might have a better chance to find someone with the JVC camera in the DMN Premiere forum.

  3. Thanks for the link. It seems that Premiere Pro's capture module is a bit finicky if there are other capture devices and audio filters installed. I realize that an analog capture card and its software may be causing conflicts. I hope that is the reason.

I've found several ideas that I could try when I get home tonight.

If it helps others, I found these links from Adobe that discusses the problem:

If there are other ideas out there, they would be very appreciated. Thanks very much.
