    i have had my ps2 for a few years. it has worked fine until about a week ago. it stopped playing some of the games. i just bought two new games. and they dont work it just says disc error. i would if someone could help me out. thank you

    Frank, most likely your either going to have to replace the drive mech or get a new PS2.

    You could always try a cleaning disk but we all know how often that works.

    Flaystus is right. Sounds like your drive may have slipped out of alignment. Replacement of the drive would be a good option.

    Maybe a laser calibration problem. If search in Google for the problem, there will be several sites listed with instructions how to fix this.

    my buddy recently did the laser alignment fix and said it worked like a charm and only took him about half an hour
    luckily, I have had no problems with my PS2
