AVI/Divx problems

I downloaded some ".avi.torrent" files and because space will become an issue, I want to put them onto DVD-RW. However, I get errors when I try to do this and Gspot says "Not a valid AVI file". Also, Windows Media Player won't play them unless I open them through the BitTorrent client. What is different about them?

Weird, I've used Bit Torrent before and always found it to be very effective.

I can't see how opening them up in Bit Torrent will enable Media Player to play them. What errors do you get when you try to copy them to a DVDR ?

I would got get the kazaa codic pack , and if u have anymore problems i would use G spot. If ur using a bit torrent program i would use Bit commet because u can see the file i had problem similar and i was 3k of the file and it wouldn't play. So make sure the files are 100% done too

I wouldn't. Identify and get the specific codecs you need, avoid codec packs like the plague.

You can put any bloody file you want on a DVD if it's just to back it up, as long as it fits...

I guess your second embedded question is why won't it play.

Plop it onto the LATEST version of GSpot & tell us what it says...
