    Hello,

AFAIK, Dazzle2 captures interlaced Field order A. Then in Movie Factory when I convert I use in Ligos Field Order A. Fine. Just that sometimes some of the MPEGS burned to DVDR on the TV are very flickery on scenes of movement. Looking at these MPGS with Birate Viewer I see Top Field No, while the ones that look good have this field set to Yes. Passing the bad MPGS through MFactory with Field Order B fixes them , although they get larger.

Using from the beginning Field B in MF gets quite large files.

Does anyone have an explanation for this ? I capture with Dazzle2 at 5000-7000 VBR, audio 128 joint stereo.

What is teh diff between stereo an joint stereo anyway ?

    Thanks !

Someone may correct me or give a better explaination but when you capture, if you capture interlaced video the file size is going to be larger that if you captured non-interlaced video. It all depends on what resolution you're capturing at:
    XXX x 240 ( or 28 - capture non-Interlaced (progressive) Field order B

    XXX x 480 ( or 576) - Doesn't matter

    Check out: http://www.geocities.com/lukesvideo/index.html
for info on interlaced video, it should help you realize what is happening and how to fix it. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. Actually, what seems to happed is that the Dazzle2 captures as Field A dominant interlaced, 5000kbit, stereo 16 bit 128k. Now, Ligos in DVDMF sees that as Frame B etc if you do an Info on the source MPEG. However, the default save settings are Frame A, joint stereo, so there appears the problem. Once the output MPEG settings are the same as the source, the problems dissappear.
