    Hello,

    Well it's out today

I'm gonna be picking it up as a present for later

It should be good with an extra 50 minutes of footage.

I just don't see why one movie needs 4 discs.

2 discs are just extras. Its stupidly long though, I watched it Sunday and it went on for bloody ever. Some of the extra stuff is shite too, loads of nerds babbling on about orcs and stuff. Also you have to get up halfway through to change discs.

    Hello,

    Bazooka - vcdhunter -

    You're not big fans huh???

The 4 discs are just right. They put so much effort into this it really helps appreciate the amount of detail they put in.

The main movie is 2 discs for the dts track and 4 commentary tracks. I love the format they use for the extended editions.

It just makes the movies more interesting to include all the personal moments that get cut out in the theatrical cut.

As blasphemous as this sounds, it is *just* a movie
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Hello,

jimmalenko - Wrong - It was a book first

That's why people get nuts over these movies. They've read them over and over for years (though I have finally just finished reading the whole set all the way through once ).

4 discs is a great amount for documentary afficenados.

If anyone goes nuts about a movie about orcs, goblins and fuckin elves they're probably too young to afford the dvds in the first place. If you're refering to those lunatics who turned up at the cinema dressed up like gandalf or one of those ******* hobbits or a bloody orc - they aren't really people.

    Hello,

Jeesh - just like Star Wars - people can be perfectly normal but like the movies a lot.

I'll leave it at that before this turns into another anti-scifi flame fest.

    I'm done arguing

Damn ! There's an extended version ? The original was long enough. I think I'm going to hold out for the condensed version.
