  1. Hi,

I'm trying to combine the two blu-rays of Lord of the Rings - Return of the King but somehow, with TSmuxer, the audio of the second part is not in sync after joining the two m2ts-files (35GB each). However, when I play the two m2ts files seperatly from eachother there is no problem at all. Anyone has an idea?

  2. Yes, that's easy. The audio/video streams have overlapping edges, i.e. they are not the same length. So when you join the two parts, the second half is out-of-sync.

The solution is to extract main movie (of the first disc at least) with Clown_BD and tick the checkbox for cutting off the last second of the m2ts, which equalizes the length of the streams. When you join the files with tsMuxer, no more async.

I have done this for each of the LOTR extended movies. The only thing tiresome about this procedure is recalculating the chapter marks for the second (appended) half. I still have the recalculated chapters list if you're interested. Simply clear the chapters in tsMuxer, and copy/paste.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

  3. I really appreciate your comment fritzi93. I've downloaded Clown BD this morning (didn't heard of it before). I'm now working on the first M2ts-file. I've selected the option that the last second will be cut. I will let you know if it worked. Thanks in advance!

  4. Unfortuneatly, it didn't work out. I've selected "Remove Last Second From Video/Audio" for the first m2ts-file.
Output Audio Format was Unconverted. For Movie Output Format I've selected m2ts. Nevertheless, it didn't come out as a m2ts-file, but a h.264-file and a DTS-stream. With tsMuxer I made a m2ts-file of it. Then I 'joined' the second m2ts-file, but it didn't work out. Audio is still out of sync for - i guess - 1,5-2 seconds.

  5. Well, I know it will work if you use AC3 640 kps audio, rather than unconverted. (My sound system doesn't justify keeping HD audio, so I always convert to AC3). I hadn't tried it with unconverted audio. If that's the problem, then the fault lies with tsMuxer and DTS-MA audio.

Also, though it doesn't bear on the audio sync problem, you should as a rule load the playlist file (mpls) rather than the m2ts file into tsMuxer. (This will load the chapter timings.) The Clown_BD output will have one only. A full rip will typically have numerous mpls files (main movie, extras), and the main movie mpls can be identified with Bdinfo. When joining, you have no choice but to use the m2ts files.

I've got out my LOTR_EXT disc set and am at this moment extracting main movie with "core" audio, to see if tsMuxer will remux it properly.

  6. Using the "Core" DTS audio worked fine.

I give it a go now with unconverted DTS-MA audio. If that works, then I would suspect you have a decoder problem. My system uses the Arcsoft DTS decoder from my install of TME.

  7. Unconverted DTS-HD works as well. The problem is in your system.

[EDIT] Just to be perfectly certain you're using Clown_BD correctly: Output to Blu-Ray. When setting up, you specify two folders for Clown_BD output. One for "demuxed" individual streams, a second one for the "remuxed" Blu-Ray files. The m2ts file in the second one is what you need to input into tsMuxer.
