  1. Ok here is my problem, I can view the MPG file nicely on the computer in color but when I use NERO and make it into a VCD format and stick it into my DVD player it comes in Black and White. My TV is NTSC. I also reencoded the file using NTSC in TMPenc and I get the same results. Playback on VCD continues in Black and White while playback on my computer is in Color.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Thanks

  2. You MIGHT have it set on the wrong capture mode if thats how you got the VCDs...make sure it is on COMPOSITE, not SVIDEO...hope it helps.

  3. Nemesis,

Its not the capture since they are all in AVI's and I convert them using TmPenc. My friend who has a DVD views the VCD in color since his TV is PAL. There must be a way to encode them to make sure can view in Color for NTSC

  4. Hi,

i think you must have selected PAL instead of NTSC when you burn with NERO. The selection is in the 'General' page bottom right. In your case, you should select NTSC. Hope this might help.

  5. Have you definitely converted the PAL MPEG into NTSC properly? If the resolution is still 325x288 or the frame rate is wrong then that might explain why you are still getting a black & white picture on your NTSC TV.

Presumably normal NTSC stuff you've got works fine on your TV? It must be something in the conversion that you're doing wrong. If it is coming out in colour on your friend's PAL TV then the conversion is leaving it as PAL most likely.

Double check that the frame rate is 29.97 and the resolution is 352x240. Also, make sure that you have told Nero that you want to make an NTSC VCD and not a PAL one. If it still doesn't work then bugger knows!
