    Hello,

When you say you used "keep aspect ratio" did you also use source video of 16:9??? If not it will probably stretch as you described.

If you were to use tmpgenc to convert avi to mpeg2 you need to select source aspect ratio 16:9 and "keep aspect ratio" to ensure the output will be unstretched widescreen.

    Hello,

99.99% of the time "keep aspect ratio" will suffice (I haven't run into a time when it hasn't).

You need to set "source aspect ratio" to 16:9. That's most likely where your problem is.

  5. Most AVI files have a pixel aspect ratio of 1:1. In Tmpgenc set the Source Aspect ratio to "1:1 (VGA)". Set the Video Arrage Method to "Full Screen (keep aspect ratio)".
