I am having a problem when I convert to DivX. I am attempting to make a backup copy of a DVD. I first copy it to my hard disk with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter. I then use Dr. DivX to convert the VOB files to DivX. I select only the actual movie files (usually VTS_01_1 through VTS_01_X (X = the last VOB file in the movie.) My problem is that more often than not the first, and only the first, VOB file is converted without the audio. The others are converted with the audio. Occasionally the first VOB file is converted with the audio but only one time out of five or so. What am I doing wrong? I suspect the problem occurs when I am copying the movie with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter. When I attempt to play the first VOB file on my computer by double clicking it, it plays without the audio. The VOB files that follow it play with the audio just fine when I select any one of them. When I lauch the movie using the menu the audio is present in the entire movie.

Thanks for the tip. I am really impressed with the Fair Use program. It is easy to use for the novice but it also has a lot of capabilty and flexibility for the advanced user as well. My only complaint is that it has no Help or manual. This is disappointing for a product that they charge for. The "free" version has a restriction that causes it to switch to black and white mode periodically. At least they warn you that it does when you start the program.

try my way of doing things , it may take a while depending on system speed , but it can bypass alot of these annoying problems the producers incorporate into there menus , or tinkered vob , ifo files .
