  1. Have downloaded the xvid codec Divx pro 5.2.1 to enable TPMPGnc Plus to read xvid files which worked fine, but when playing the xvid file before encoding I cant get any sound, the picture is fine but no sound!!
    Any help greatly appreciated

  2. Im not playing them through TMPgEnc, Im playing them through windows media player to check they are ok before I go to encode them throgh TMPGEnc

  3. have used g spot & it says the codec is installed & should work fine but still no sound!

    Try playing it with VLC media player. If it plays OK with sound, then you probably do have a codec problem. BTW, what did Gspot say the audio format was?

    That an AVI plays in Media Player tells you absolutely nothing about the integrity of the AVI.

    TMPGEnc doesn't do AC3 audio, if that's what's in the AVI. (XviD is a video codec, and has nothing to do with audio related problems.)

  7. Ive had to install a new ac3 codec even though g spot said there was one there, ive now got audio!

    The general procedure is to extract audio and decode to WAV before letting it on to TMPGEnc, but if it works, fine!
