Data Bit Rate too high on captured video

I've captured a video from a tape onto my PC. The problem is, when I try to burn it to DVD, MyDVD tells me that the databit rate is too high. Now, I have the tape, I can re-capture it, that's not a problem. I'm just wondering what setting I would change, using ATI's most recent capturing software, to reduce the data bit rate. I mean, I'm not seeing a 'data bit rate' option, so *shrugs*

"Map Presets" is the key, be sure to capture "MPEG 2 DVD". A resolution of 352x480 is more than adequate for VHS captures.

The problem lies with MyDVD, not you. Older versions of it that I've tried frequently rejected its own capture files as being non-compliant.

My advice: Find another capture program, and stop using MyDVD for authoring and burning. There are plenty of freeware apps in the tools section ...no need for you to struggle with a POS app like MyDVD, IMO.

I would take Cap Master's suggestion and look for a new app. But as far as your current capture files go, you can reduce the bitrate quickly and easily with DVD Patcher. And, no encoding!! I would try a bitrate between 5500 and 3500, depending on your personal preference.
