  1. I have 2 divx movies, one is 700mb, second is 490mb, i dont wanna waste two disks so i want to put them on one dvd disk. The program Im using in WINAVI to convert and author a dvd. Is it possible to convert and author these movies seperately and then burn them together on 1 dvd in NERO 6. Or is there any other programs i can use to join those 2 divx movies. thanks

  2. Why join the DiVX AVI files if they are different movies? Just encode each DivX AVI and create separate MPG files that can be used to author a DVD (TEMPGenc DVD Author can accept multiple MPGs).

Just calculate the appropriate bit rate for your encoder.

  4. You can use VirtualDub if the movies are the same codec, frame rate, frame size, etc. First Open one, then Append the other.

There isn't really any need to though if you're making a movie DVD. Most authoring apps let you import multiple files.

As <junkmalle> says, joining them is pointless let your authoring software sort that out (Tmpg DVD Author is well worth investing in if you dont already have it...and its dead easy to use).

And agree with <kunkmalle> again on joining the avi's.

And if they do use different encodings joining them will require re-encoding at least one of them which is just adding an uneeded encode (and quality loss) and a waste of your time as you've still got to encode the final joined avi to mpeg2 anyway (which you might as well do when they are 2 single files).
