Heres my situation, I have a short intro which is in .avi format and I would like to merge this with another file I have which is in .divx format. I tried to use Total Video Converter to change the divx to avi so I could use Cyberlink Power Director. However after the conversion the audio was out of sync with the video. I am unsure how to go about doing this and any help given will be much appreciated thanks

The .divx container is basically just the .avi container, with provisions for the additional features used/introduced in DivX 6 (such as menus, etc.) If your .divx video is just a plain video file (no menus, subtitles, extra audio/video streams, etc.), you should be able to simply rename the extension to .avi and merge them as you normally would any other AVI videos. (Assuming, of course, they both have the same video and audio (no VBR) qualities.)

Ai Haibara, I'm stupid thanks for the simple tip. Also I used AVI Demux and joined the files together to make one large avi. It works just fine, the only odd part is that where the end of one movie ends it replays the first second of the clip before going to the second clip. Any idea?

Do you have the latest version of the codecs used to play the original videos? And, do the audio and video specifics completely match in both videos?

I haven't used AVIDemux that much, but maybe you can see if it'll allow you to cut out that particular moment from the video (without re-encoding). (Or if the latest experimental versions of VirtualDub will, with that one feature... what was it? Smart editing?)
