    I just got a stack of 100 8x discs from newegg, and they will not record faster than 1x!

    I loaded the HS0K firmware and tried to upgrade the -R settings but it did no good.

    Is there something else I could try to get this burner to work?

    If not, what would be a good burner to buy that will work with these disks?

    if i'm not mistaken the 811 drive can not burn DVD-R media @ 8x speed. check the codeguys website:
