  1. I would appreciate any help!

I have a Tape that I am trying to convert from DIX to DVD, first off can any one suggest a free conversion tool....ot a tool with a try and buy period?

I am currently using Powerdirector three Partly because it has a Divx codec, partly, because I allready own it..

I was able to convert the Divx to DVD and then I burned it using Burn at once onto a dvd...the problem was that when I go to watch it on my DVD player I can see the video, but there is no audio...

and now the kicker...If I play the newly converted DVD on my computer it has sound....

    any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Brad

Try TheFilmMachine. It's an easy way to convert most DIVX or XVID to DVD. Freeware.

If the DIVX has AC3 VBR audio, that may be your problem. Always run the file through AVIcodec or Gspot to see what the file is made of.

Your computer may be able to play the file because it has all the codecs needed, while your standalone player may not be able to use these.
