  2. Mpeg2Schnitt works quite well if it accepts the file. It is sometimes picky with regards to what mpegs it will take. Are the audio and video separate (elementary streams) or is it sound and video in one file (program stream) ?

  4. If it's one video file you click on that also contains the sound, its a program stream. TMPGEnc's cut function works well in this case.

If the video file plays without sound and theres a separate sound file, you can cut this using Mpeg2Schnitt. When there's a separate audio file and video file, for example, Video.m2v and Video.ac3, those would be called elementary streams. Mpeg2schnitt cuts these nicely and you can add them separately.

  6. If you can't get Mpeg2Schnitt to accept the file, try cuttermaran. Its basically the same, only you have to download tmpgenc too.
