I have a 9 hour WMV file, low quality. 320x240, 125 kbps video bit rate.
I'm chopping it down to 1.5 hours. Basic chops too. Just 2 chops actually.
I've tried using Movie Maker to cut it and re-render it.
It's fine in the Movie Maker even after the cuts.
But when I play it the audio and video is out of sync
It's ok in the beginning, but gets worse as you go on.
I tried installing media encoder 9 and using the custom profile, but I couldn't get the custom profile to show up.
Anyway, i'm guessing the length of the video is the issue. MM can't handle it. I know it's garbage.
Any suggestions on what other software to try? Or maybe something i could try with MM

I've never tried working with a 9 hour WMV file but WMV are VFR so trying to edit them will usually give sync problems.

What I usually do is convert them to MPG using TMPGEnc and then edit them.

Trying to convert to AVI will usually cause sync problems also which is why I convert to MPG first.

Good luck. A nine hour video will take a long time to convert, edit and save.

Soopafresh, you da man. That program is sweet. Super fast too. Rendered in about 10sec. That is the perfect tool for what I needed to do. The output is flawless; perfectly in sync. Thank you very much.
