  1. Hey all, if anybody could help me here that would be great~!

Anyways, I have a series of rmvb's which i want to convert using EO Video (the only tool out there that i know which can convert this format). I've tried several different framerates (PAL/NTSC) combined with different frame intervals, but what I always end up getting is 5 seconds of normal footage w/ sound, and then it'll suddenly snap into blurry images that looks as if it was encoded in the wrong framerate.

I can watch the vids in its original rmvb format no problem, but i'll need to convert them in order to back them up into a dvd playable series.

Sound is not a problem, it's just the video that's totally distorted. I've tried different framerates on them, but the same result.

Hope someone can figure out a solution soon~!

    Thnx

  4. Thnx for your reply.

It's "rmvb" files that i'm dealing with right now, so i'm not sure if the steps you advised will work for my problem (cause they focuse mainly on rm and not rmvb)

Anyways, I'll try it, and I'll be posting my report right after.

    cheers

  5. Sandoria, Please let us know your results.
Cuz im kinda dealing with loads of RMVB too. I know there must be a faster and easier way somewhere as people can convert VCD/DVD to rmvb easily.

  6. Oops, sorry there, didn't check my email account regularly, didn't know someone replied here.

Anyways, turns out I used RealMedia Editor to cut out the introduction part and converted the rest, it worked fine~!

So I believe the original creator used 2 different frame rates (some how) to create the rmvbs, and EO Video couldn't catch the ladder in the converting process. The probably merged a pre-made intro with any new footage that they create, and didn't realise the they're diff fps.

I guess anyone having this problem converting rmvbs can try what I did.
    1)Download RealMedia Editor
2)Open the media with the editor
3)Cut out the intro or any part that u find inconvertable
4)Save under a different filename so the editor can (sort of) re-encode the media
5)Run EO Video on the new media file.

    Hope this helps~!

  7. If you have trouble opening the media file with RM Editor, you can try and download Easy RealMedia Editor, which is a mod version of the latter tool.

The slight challenge u'll face with this new tool (if i recall correctly) is that u don't get to scroll and watch your footage on screen and make your cuts. U'll have to actually manually punch in the times u want the footage to start and end.
